43. Now who you wanna murder?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

Dedicated to KETO QUEEN for the great idea. I’m going to end this blog at 50 then start either a sequel or spin off with COARIN. This way LOST! will still be up and there will be no confusion and mixups because I’ll do the other one there.

After greeting Dadi and Dada, I saw that Basheera was already here and so were our other cousins. Basheera for some reason was fuming. “Now who you want to murder?” I questioned.

“That idiot, Zaheer! I was helping Dadi in the kitchen when I hear Zaheera screaming at him that he can’t come in the kitchen, so he asked why and she told him that I’m making purda from him and do you know what he said?”

“Woah! You’re really mad, huh? What did he say to get you so riled up?”

“But I’ve seen her running around in nappies!” she replied mimicking him.

“You know how I wanted to kill him! I mean I know he’s older than us but only by like 5 years. And besides, it’s not like we are doing our own thing, we’re following the command of Allah. It’s so embarrassing and infuriating that I think if you don’t distract me soon I’m going to have blood on my hands! I don’t know how Zaheera puts up with him. If he was my twin, then he would just be history by now.”

The way I laughed. Basheera can be a real drama queen sometimes. Is it bad of me to be thinking, ‘rather her in that awkward situation than me?’

“What blood? You can’t even kill a mosquito! And we all know how much you love history” I teased causing her to stick out her tongue at me followed by a fake gag. “So where’s Zaheera?”

“She’s probably unpacking. You know what a neat freak she is. She’ll probably come looking for an iron now because her clothes got creased. I mean duh it did, becuase it was in a bag so long while they were travelling,” Basheera remarked.

“Leave her,” I chided. “After all cleanliness is a half of Imaan.”

  قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

 الطُّهُورُ شَطْرُ الإِيمَان

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Cleanliness is half of faith.

This covers all areas from keeping our hearts, minds and souls clean from impure thoughts and feelings like malice jealousy etc, to keeping ourselves and surroundings clean.

A muslim should try to be clean and pure at all times. Our Salaah and certain other acts of Ibadah are not accepted if we not pure, if we not in the state of Wudhu.

We do things like this everyday, from brushing our teeth, to making istinjaa. All thats left is to make the intention of doing it solely for the pleasure of Allah and its impossible to imagine the amount of reward that we will get.

And right on cue Zaheera appeared, “Ma, can I have a cloth to…..”

Scaring the life out of her, I yelled,”Hey, leave alone not even giving me a hug, you are acting as though I’m invisible.”

“I didn’t even see you. You here already! Yay! Just our little Georgie porgie and Amina to…

There they are,” She said as the bell rang.
