بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
I went to help Fui and Khalid with the frantic search for Faheem. We first searched the house just to make sure but he wasn’t here. We then began retracing Khalid’s footsteps. “First I went to IceDream,” He said, as he led us down the route he had tread moments earlier.
We questioned almost every person we passed along the way and upon reaching the ice-cream shop proceeded to search it corner to corner to no avail. Desperation filled Fui’s face and she insisted that we wait while she checked the bathrooms as well.
As we expected, he wasn’t there. Turning to Khalid, fui begged, ” Please Khalid, think properly. I don’t think I can bear it if I don’t find my child. Where on earth can my child be? He’s only five years old. Too young to know directions properly. He doesn’t even know how to cross a road. I don’t know what’s better, not knowing or knowing something bad happened to him. What will I tell his father? I’m such a bad irresponsible mother?!”
I bought fui an ice-cream since we were in an ice-cream shop after all, in the hopes that it will calm her down a little. “We’ll find him Insha Allah. You need to place your trust in Allah and remember, panicking helps no one,” I gently said before questioning Khalid, “Did you go home from here or did you go somewhere else?”
“From here I went to the park and then … I sat on the bench near the entrance till I finished my Ice-cream and then…. That’s it! Khalid suddenly exclaimed as he began running towards the park. I sighed before I began running after him trying to keep up with him. I must have really looked a sight in my niqaab running like a mad thing.
There in the park in the middle of the sandpit, we spied little Faheem tasting the sand. He was totally oblivious to the amount of stress and worry he had caused and was happily enjoying himself.
His mother upon seeing him burst into tears and carried him only to begin showering him with kisses, despite his protests. She then refused to let him out of her sight for the rest of the day.
Fui made sure she expressed her gratitude to Allah for returning her son to her. She expressed it with the following words:
الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ ما شاء الله
All praises are due to Allah. Just as Allah willed.
الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي بِنِعْمَتِهِ تَتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتُ
All praises are due to Allah who through his bounty good things have been accomplished.
(Dua’s to be recited upon receiving good news)
Like a big granpa, he later complained to Yaseera, “I went for a walk to the park because I needed some peace but they had to follow me! Then my mummy only wants to kiss me and kiss me and put spit on my face! I don’t now for what she was carrying me also. I’m a big boy. I got legs. I know how to walk. They just anoning me!”
Then began a fight because Yaseera laughed at him and claimed, “I’m bigger than you beacause I know how to say anoying.”
“But I’m bigger than you. My mummy told me,” Faheem screamed angrily.
They both then began to climb onto chairs and tables in their aim to be bigger than the other. These kids were just too much!
